The NHM90 is built on a stamped Chinese receiver and marked "MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO," with factory code 386 and the triangular arsenal emblem. Import marks read "CSI ONT CA" for China Sports, Inc. Its early-1990s sporter configuration is correct for this model and era.
The 16.34 in barrel is paired with a pinned/ported muzzle device, and the rifle uses a long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt. The rifle wears a blued finish over its stamped steel receiver.
Sights are traditional AKM iron sights: a protected post front on an open-ear base and an adjustable rear tangent notch graduated 1-8. The hardwood furniture includes wood handguards and a separate checkered wood pistol grip.
The stock is varnished wood with a ventilated rubber recoil pad and a 13.0 in length of pull. The rifle is full-size and AKM-pattern, chambered in 7.62x39 with a 30+1 capacity. The last four digits of the serial number are matched on the rear takedown button.
