Built on the AR-15 platform, this M&P-15 uses a semi-automatic, direct impingement system with a carbine-length gas setup. The upper features a forward assist and ejection-port dust cover, along with a standard bolt catch and standard charging handle for familiar operation.
The A4 flat-top upper with T-marked Picatinny rail and railed gas block provides a clean, optics-ready configuration without fixed sights. The receiver and magwell carry S&W branding, and the selector is clearly marked SAFE/FIRE.
The 16 inch barrel is marked "5.56 NATO 1/9" and ends in an A2 flash suppressor. The muzzle is threaded, and the 1:9 twist accommodates a wide range of common 5.56/.223 bullet weights. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
Furniture includes a 6-position collapsible stock (13.5 inch length of pull), an A2-style pistol grip, and carbine-length two-piece polymer handguards. An S&W logo is molded into the buttstock, and a Crimson Trace micro red/green-dot sight is installed on a Picatinny riser for immediate use.
