Built in 1965 in the USA, this Model 70 represents the early post-64 push-feed configuration with a small extractor and plunger ejector. The bolt is jeweled and two-lug in design, with a recessed bolt face that complements the push-feed system. The bright alloy-type bottom metal houses a hinged floorplate, with the release located inside the trigger guard.
The 22-inch sporter-contour barrel is marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" and "WINCHESTER MODEL 70 - 270 WIN -". Factory iron sights include a ramped front blade and a folding rear leaf, giving the rifle practical sighting options out of the box. The receiver is drilled and tapped and fitted with plug screws.
The aftermarket Bell & Carlson synthetic sporter stock provides a durable, weather-resistant platform. It has molded checkering for grip, sling swivel studs for carry attachments, a gray finish, and a 13.5-inch length of pull. This setup pairs well with the rifle's blued steel receiver and barrel for a classic look with modern usability.
Controls and handling are familiar Model 70 features: the three-position safety, a floorplate release inside the trigger guard, and a 3+1 internal magazine. Chambered in .270 Win, this rifle delivers a versatile big-game cartridge in a light, handy sporter configuration.
