The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 4.25 AOS pairs forged-carbon-steel construction with a 4.25 inch match-grade forged stainless bull barrel and the Agency Optic System plate setup. This compact, double-stack 9mm includes two 20-round magazines and one 17-round magazine, a green fiber-optic front sight with a black serrated rear integrated into the AOS plate, and practical upgrades including an aftermarket flat-faced trigger and an oversized flared magwell.
Built on a forged carbon-steel slide and frame finished in black Cerakote, the Prodigy features front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation. An integral Picatinny accessory rail accommodates lights or other rail-mounted accessories, and the polymer grip module supports the double-stack magazine format.
The 4.25 inch match-grade, bushingless bull barrel is forged from stainless steel with a 1:16 twist and runs on a two-piece full-length guide rod. The barrel hood is marked "S.A. 9MM" and the slide uses a bushingless muzzle design for consistent lockup.
Sighting is handled by a green fiber-optic front paired with a plain black, serrated rear that is integral to the AOS plate. This example includes an AOS plate marked A13B. Controls include a manual thumb safety and grip safety, plus a flat-faced, skeletonized trigger with an overtravel screw.
Capacity is 20+1 with the included 20-round magazines, and a 17-round magazine is also provided. An oversized flared magwell is installed to streamline reloads. Unloaded weight is approximately 32.5 oz with an overall length of 7.8 in and a height of 5.5 in.
