Built by PTR Industries in Aynor, South Carolina, this PTR 91 GIR combines the G3-pattern lineage with a modern U.S. production receiver. The stamped-steel receiver wears a parkerized finish and is marked "PTR 91" and "PTR INDUSTRIES, INC. AYNOR, SC U.S.A. .308 CAL."
The GI-series configuration includes a slim ventilated green polymer handguard and a fixed polymer stock with a rubber buttpad and an integrated trapdoor. A left-side charging handle and classic "S E F" selector markings preserve the familiar G3-style manual of arms.
The 18 in. barrel is threaded and fitted with a birdcage flash hider. A fluted chamber supports reliable extraction. Sights are the G3 pattern with a hooded front post and a rotary diopter rear drum. A front sling loop is located at the sight base.
A welded 1913 Picatinny rail is attached to the receiver for direct mounting of compatible accessories. This rifle also has the Bill Springfield HK 91 Improved Buffer System installed to reduce recoil.
