The 93R17 BTVS is a right-hand bolt-action rimfire with a detachable-box magazine system and a stated capacity of 5+1. It is chambered in .17 HMR and features a stainless receiver and a 21-inch heavy/bull barrel with a target-style recessed crown and unthreaded muzzle. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and there are no iron sights on this configuration.
The stock is a laminated hardwood thumbhole design with a Monte Carlo cheekpiece. It includes a beavertail, vented forend for steady support, sling swivel studs, and a rubber recoil pad. Length of pull is 13.75 inches, and the stock is configured for right-hand shooters.
Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger is paired with an AccuTrigger safety blade and a two-position safety, providing a straightforward interface for setting trigger weight within the system's design parameters.
This rifle is Canadian-made at Lakefield, Ontario, with importer markings from Savage Arms Inc., Westfield, MA. The serial number is located on the right side of the barrel shank. The package includes two-piece scope bases and 1-inch rings installed.
