The VP9 is a full-size, striker-fired pistol chambered in 9mm Luger and built in Germany. It uses a 4.09 inch steel barrel that is cold hammer-forged with polygonal rifling and a 1:9.8 RH twist for durability and service life.
The Optics Ready slide includes an optics cut with a cover plate, plus front and rear serrations and an external extractor. The extractor doubles as a loaded chamber indicator, and a rear striker-status indicator provides visual confirmation of striker condition.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including paddle-style magazine releases and slide stop levers. The polymer frame features molded grip texturing with finger grooves, and the VP9’s interchangeable grip system (backstrap and side panels) allows user fit adjustments.
Factory contrast sights consist of a dovetailed front post with a bright green dot and a dovetailed, serrated, drift-adjustable rear. A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with four slots is integrated for mounting compatible accessories. Markings include DE and CIP N proofs, a CA two-letter HK date code, and the HKI Columbus GA import mark.
