The Z-15 is part of IWI's Zion-15 series and follows the AR-15 platform. It features a flat-top upper with a full-length Picatinny rail, brass deflector, forward assist, and an ejection-port dust cover. Receiver markings include the IWI flame logo and IWI US, Inc Middletown, PA.
The 12.5 inch barrel is 4150 chrome-moly-vanadium steel with a heavy profile and a nitride treatment. It uses a 1:8 right-hand twist for 5.56mm NATO and is threaded at the muzzle, capped by an A2-style birdcage flash hider.
An 11.5 inch free-float aluminum handguard provides M-LOK attachment slots with a top Picatinny rail. An M-LOK QD sling socket is installed. No iron sights or optics are installed.
The operating system is semi-automatic, direct impingement. Controls include a manual safety selector with SAFE and SEMI positions. Furniture consists of an adjustable brace and a B5 Systems pistol grip, with IWI logos present on the handguard and bolt carrier.
