This Mossberg 500A is a 12-gauge, 18.5 inch, pump-action shotgun built in North Haven, Connecticut, and chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" shells. It comes thoughtfully customized with a perforated steel barrel heat shield, a TacStar 6-round receiver side saddle, an Elzetta barrel/magazine clamp with mounted flashlight, and a clip-on green fiber-optic front sight over the brass bead. Condition is very good with a clean, mirror-bright bore.
The 18.5 inch barrel and 5+1 capacity make for a compact, straightforward configuration. It uses a standard-length magazine tube that sits flush with the barrel and a knurled magazine cap with a front sling loop. Right-side ejection and a simple pump-action design keep operation familiar and dependable.
Controls and furniture are practical and user-friendly. The top-tang sliding safety includes a red fire indicator. The synthetic stock incorporates an integral pistol grip and a rubber recoil pad, paired with a ribbed synthetic forend. Length of pull is 13.5", and a rear sling swivel stud is installed.
Sighting is by a brass bead with a clip-on green fiber-optic element for added visibility. Factory markings include the North Haven, Connecticut receiver rollmark and a barrel stamp noting 12 gauge and chambering for both 2 3/4" and 3". Made in the United States.
The installed upgrades add practical utility. The perforated steel heat shield covers the barrel. A TacStar 6-round side saddle provides on-gun shell storage. An Elzetta barrel/magazine clamp secures the mounted flashlight, and the clip-on fiber-optic front sight overlays the existing brass bead.
