This full-size 1911 follows the Government-length pattern with a 5 inch barrel and single-action operation in .45 ACP. It uses a GI-style recoil system with a short guide rod and barrel bushing, and feeds from standard single-stack 1911 magazines for a 7+1 capacity.
The sighting system is straightforward and durable: a staked blade front with a single white dot and a dovetailed rear with two white dots. Controls include a thumb safety and grip safety, plus a short, smooth-face trigger and a spur hammer for a traditional manual-of-arms.
The slide and frame wear a matte dark gray, parkerized-type finish. Slide features include vertical rear serrations only, a lowered ejection port, and an internal extractor. Slide legends observed: "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" and "MODEL 1911-A1 CAL .45". The frame is marked "GENESEO IL USA", and an NM serial prefix is observed.
Grips are double-diamond checkered wood with Springfield Armory medallions, providing a classic look and positive purchase. A standard magazine release rounds out the familiar 1911 control layout.
