- One-piece wraparound black rubber grip with molded checkering (installed)
The Security-Six series is built on a one-piece, sideplate-less frame with a coil mainspring, giving it a strong and straightforward design. This example is chambered in .357 Magnum and is compatible with .38 Special, offering flexibility in ammunition choice.
Construction is all stainless steel with a brushed/satin finish across the frame, cylinder, barrel, and receiver. It uses a six-shot fluted cylinder and Ruger's push-button cylinder latch for positive operation.
The 6-inch barrel features a half-lug (short shroud) profile, paired with a ramped front sight blade and a fully adjustable rear sight. The action is double-action/single-action with a smooth-faced trigger for consistent control.
Ruger's transfer-bar safety allows safe carry of six rounds. This revolver also includes an external hammer with a wide, checkered spur for confident cocking. The aftermarket wraparound rubber grip with molded checkering enhances purchase without altering the revolver's core configuration. Made in the United States in 1977.
