The New Vaquero series pairs traditional single-action only operation with practical enhancements for everyday shooting. Construction is all stainless steel, including the frame, cylinder, and barrel, with a high-polish stainless finish intended to resemble nickel. The 4.62 inch barrel is cold hammer-forged, and the six-shot cylinder is fluted. Factory dimensions are approximately 10.5 inches overall length and 37 ounces in weight.
Sights are fixed and straightforward: a rounded blade front and an integral rear notch. Safety features include Ruger’s transfer bar system and a loading-gate interlock, along with a spring-loaded base pin latch.
The XR3 mid-frame plow-handle grip provides a classic feel, complemented by smooth reddish hardwood panels. The left grip panel features a white diamond inlay, with no Ruger medallions visible.
