As a first-generation, first-year LCP with 370- prefix, this pistol represents the original 2008 configuration. It is chambered in .380 ACP and built for minimal size, with a 2.75 in barrel, 5.16 in overall length, 3.60 in height, 0.82 in width, and an unloaded weight of approximately 9.6 oz. Capacity is 6+1.
The action is hammer-fired, double-action-only, using a short-recoil, locked-breech system with a recessed hammer. It features a dual recoil spring guide system. The slide hold-open is manual-only and does not lock open on an empty magazine, consistent with the original LCP design.
Construction includes an alloy steel barrel and a black glass-filled nylon frame with an aluminum subframe. The pistol is made in the USA, with Ruger medallion grip panels. Markings include "LCP" on the left side of the slide, "RUGER • PRESCOTT • AZ • USA" on the right, and "380 AUTO" on the barrel hood.
Sighting is via fixed, integral, very low-profile sights (non-dovetailed), with an integral front blade and integral rear notch. This example also has a Crimson Trace Laserguard LG-431 installed, and the two included magazines are marked "MADE IN ITALY" and fitted with finger-extension baseplates.
