The AM-15 is built on a direct-impingement, semi-automatic AR-15 platform chambered in 5.56 NATO. Its 16-inch barrel is marked "5.56 NATO 1:8," offering a versatile twist rate for common bullet weights. The barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2-style flash hider.
The upper receiver features a flat-top Picatinny rail, forward assist, brass deflector, and ejection-port dust cover. A free-float aluminum handguard with a continuous top Picatinny rail provides rigid mounting space along the top.
Controls include a manual safety selector, and the rifle uses a detachable STANAG-pattern magazine system. Current configuration is 10+1 capacity with the included magazines.
The stock is a 6-position collapsible polymer unit with an approximate adjustable length of pull from 11 to 14.5 inches. An overmolded-style finger-groove pistol grip enhances handling. The rifle has a black finish and ships without sights installed. A Gadsden snake with "DON'T TREAD ON ME" is engraved on the left magwell.
