German manufacture and proof marks identify this VP9: DE country code, eagle-over-N nitro proof, and BG (2016) date code with "Made in Germany" markings. It is a full-size, striker-fired, short-recoil, locked-breech pistol chambered in 9mm Luger with a 17+1 capacity.
The 4.09 inch barrel is cold hammer-forged with a polygonal bore and a non-threaded, flush muzzle. The slide features front and rear cocking serrations. Sights are a 3-dot iron set with a yellow front dot and a yellow 2-dot rear in a drift-adjustable dovetail.
The polymer frame includes HK's interchangeable grip system with backstraps and side panels to tailor fit. An integrated Picatinny dustcover rail is molded into the frame. The trigger uses a safety blade, and the pistol incorporates a trigger safety.
This example is customized with a flared magazine-well funnel and an unbranded, frame-mounted front weight/rail extension that surrounds the slide nose and clamps with two screws. It ships with five steel magazines—one 17-round and four 15-round—with an extended basepad installed on the magazine shown in the pistol.
