This is a first-generation (pre-M2.0) M&P9 full-size with a 4.25-inch stainless steel barrel and a stainless slide, both treated at the factory with Melonite for a durable black finish. The black polymer frame incorporates a stainless-steel chassis for strength and stability.
Controls and features include a striker-fired action, a hinged two-piece trigger with a hinged trigger safety, and a sear deactivation system. It has no manual thumb safety. The magazine release is reversible, and the frame integrates a three-slot Picatinny accessory rail for lights or other accessories.
The slide wears rear-only fish-scale scalloped cocking serrations for traction and uses an external extractor. Sighting is upgraded with Trijicon tritium 3-dot night sights, with the rear marked Trijicon H3 17, offering a bright, clear sight picture in varied lighting.
