The M70 pairs a compact profile with all-steel construction and a blued finish, delivering a solid feel in a streamlined format. Its single-action, simple blowback system and exposed hammer with a rounded spur provide straightforward operation.
Controls and safety features include a manual safety and a magazine disconnect. A red paint dot marks the fire position on the safety, and the extractor tip is red-painted and visible through the ejection port.
Sighting is handled by a fixed blade front and a drift-adjustable rear notch. The slide adds practical touches with rear slide serrations and an anti-glare serrated top rib. Black checkered polymer grips with Zastava monogram medallions offer a secure hold.
Markings and provenance are clear: CRVENA ZASTAVA … Cal. 7,65mm on the left side of the slide, MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA on the right, and the import mark GRC–Martinsburg, WV on the frame right.
