This rifle includes a fixed A2 front sight base with bayonet lug and a Magpul MBUS flip-up polymer rear sight, complemented by a flat-top upper with a T-marked Picatinny rail.

The 16-inch barrel is 4140 CM steel with Smith & Wesson’s Armornite nitride treatment applied to the interior and exterior, enhancing durability and corrosion resistance. It is threaded and fitted with an A2 flash hider, and marked “5.56 NATO 1/9” to match the 1:9 RH twist. A carbine-length gas system provides the familiar AR-15 handling characteristics.
The rifle includes a fixed A2 front sight base with bayonet lug and front sling loop, paired with a Magpul MBUS flip-up polymer rear sight. A flat-top upper receiver provides a T-marked Picatinny rail (T4–T12) for mounting. The package also includes a forward assist, shell deflector, and ejection-port dust cover.
Receivers are forged aluminum with a black anodized finish, and the lower features an integral trigger guard. The direct impingement, semi-automatic action is complemented by a chrome-lined gas key and a chromed firing pin. A manual safety is standard.
Furniture includes polymer carbine-length two-piece handguards and a 6-position collapsible M4-type stock with a 10.5-inch length of pull. The right magwell is marked “M&P 15.”
Chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 30+1 capacity using STANAG magazines, this M&P15 Sport II is made in the United States. It ships with one 30-round Magpul PMAG GEN M2 (windowed) and retains the classic A2 front and modern MBUS rear sight combination.
