The heart of this Gen 1 American Rifle is its three-lug bolt with a 70-degree lift and dual cocking cams, designed for smooth cycling and ample scope clearance. It feeds from a detachable 4-round polymer box magazine for a 4+1 capacity in .30-06 Springfield.
The 22-inch alloy steel barrel is cold hammer-forged and free-floated via Ruger’s Power Bedding system, with a recessed crown and an unthreaded muzzle. The 1:10 RH twist supports a wide range of .30-caliber bullet weights. There are no iron sights; the receiver is drilled and tapped, and two-piece Weaver-style bases are installed.
The black glass-filled polymer stock features textured grip and fore-end panels plus a rubber recoil pad. Ruger’s Marksman Adjustable trigger allows user adjustment to preference, and the tang-mounted, two-position safety is easy to access from the shooting position.
Both the barrel and receiver carry a matte blued finish. This rifle is the Standard configuration, model number 6901, with a listed length of pull of 14.0 inches and a manufacture year of 2013.
