Product Description

    1956 Tula SKS-45 Letter-Series (D Suffix) 7.62x39 Semi-Auto Rifle, NHM SAC CA Import

This Tula Arsenal SKS-45 is a 1956 letter-series rifle with the D suffix, marking the final year of Soviet SKS production. It features a 20.5 inch barrel, a fixed 10-round internal box magazine, and the integral underfolding blade bayonet. The rifle bears the NHM Co., Sacramento, CA import legend and retains its original Cyrillic serial with a matching stock stamp. It is a clean, well-kept example with a shiny bore and clear inspection and cartouche stamps.

Importer-applied serial 9907628 accompanies the original Cyrillic serial НБ 689Д. The rifle retains its standard SKS iron sights with a hooded front post and a tangent rear graduated to 1000 meters. The hardwood stock with buttplate trapdoor and the ventilated wooden handguard present a classic Soviet configuration.

Built at Tula Arsenal, this letter-series SKS-45 carries the D suffix that identifies 1956 production. Soviet inspection and cartouche stamps are present, and the original Cyrillic serial НБ 689Д is accompanied by a matching stock stamp and the importer-applied serial 9907628.

The rifle is chambered in 7.62x39 and operates via a semi-automatic short-stroke gas piston with a tilting-bolt lockup. It uses a fixed 10-round internal box magazine and retains the standard SKS front sight base with an unthreaded muzzle.

Hardware and furniture are correct to the pattern: a steel receiver and steel 20.5 inch barrel, a hardwood stock with buttplate trapdoor and sling swivels, and a wooden handguard with two ventilation ports. The integral in-the-white underfolding blade bayonet is installed.

Sights are the classic SKS set: a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 meters. The length of pull measures 12.5, providing the traditional SKS handling profile.

Import markings read RUSSIA SKS 7.62x39 NHM SAC, CA, reflecting NHM Co., Sacramento, California as the importer. The rifle represents a clean example of a final-year Soviet SKS with clear provenance and correct markings.
