The MK II variant pairs a polymer slide cover over a steel core with front and rear cocking serrations and an external extractor for reliable cycling and easy manipulation. Its single-action, internal-hammer, delayed blowback operation delivers a consistent trigger characteristic specific to the Five-seveN platform.
The 4.8 in stainless steel barrel is cold hammer-forged with a chrome-lined chamber and bore, and uses a 1:9 RH twist suited to 5.7x28mm. Adjustable 3-dot iron sights include a dovetailed white-dot front and a fully adjustable rear for both elevation and windage, with an approximate 7.0 in sight radius.
Controls are set up for versatility, with an ambidextrous frame-mounted manual safety and a reversible magazine release. The FDE polymer frame features textured/checkered grip panels with a molded FN logo, providing secure handling in a full-size format. An integral accessory rail with five Picatinny slots supports mounted accessories as needed.
