Built on an open-top design patterned after the Colt 1860 Army conversion, this revolver uses a separate breech ring (conversion plate) with a right-side loading gate. The fixed rear sight is a notch cut into the conversion ring, paired with a fixed blade front sight, maintaining the period-correct sight picture.
The 8 inch tapered round barrel and six-shot roll-engraved cylinder are blued, while the frame and hammer wear a color case-hardened finish. Forged steel is used for the barrel and frame, with a steel backstrap and trigger guard, and the revolver is fitted with a one-piece walnut grip for a traditional profile.
Chambered in .44 Colt, the cylinder holds six rounds and operates in single-action only. An ejector-rod housing with spring return is mounted on the right side for case extraction.
Manufacturer markings include Italian proof marks and maker/import information on the barrel. On-gun codes include “cat12596,” and the factory carton lists Item “CA930,” aligning with Uberti’s catalog mapping (Code 0930 / Cat. 12596) for the 8 inch .44 Colt configuration. A. Uberti S.r.l.
produced this revolver in Italy, with Cimarron Firearms Co. serving as the importer/marketer.
