The Heavy Barrel configuration is marked on the left side of the barrel beneath the model and caliber rollmark, confirming the desirable factory profile. The 6-inch carbon-steel barrel features a matted top strap and the underside ejector-rod relief groove characteristic of this contour. The barrel top carries the two-line Colt address and patent legend ending with Oct. 5, 1926.
Built on Colt’s E-frame, this revolver has a polished blued steel finish with an exposed, checkered hammer spur and a checkered cylinder latch. It uses an unshrouded ejector rod with a knurled tip and a six-shot, six-flute cylinder. The action is double-action/single-action and incorporates Colt’s Positive Lock safety.
The fixed-sight system includes a half-moon front blade and a square-notch rear milled into the top strap. The left sideplate bears the Rampant Colt logo. Two-piece checkered walnut service stocks with Colt medallions are fitted, and a Pachmayr Los Angeles grip adapter is present.
