Smith & Wesson M&P45 Shield .45 ACP, No Thumb Safety, 3.3-inch, Armornite, Black, with Crimson Trace Laserguard
This M&P45 Shield stands out as a slim, single-stack .45 ACP with the No Thumb Safety configuration and a factory-style Armornite-treated stainless steel slide and barrel. It includes an installed Crimson Trace trigger-guard Laserguard and comes with both 6- and 7-round S&W magazines. At about 0.99-inch wide and roughly 20.5 oz unloaded, it delivers .45 ACP performance in a compact package.
The pistol is striker-fired and retains the Shield series' internal safety suite while omitting an external thumb safety. The slide features front and rear scalloped cocking serrations and an external extractor. Fixed, dovetailed sights pair a white-dot front with a plain-notch rear for a clean sight picture.
Construction centers on stainless steel components with an Armornite matte black finish over a black polymer frame. The 3.3-inch barrel, single-stack design, and overall length of about 6.45 inches support discreet carry and easy handling. It is marked "CAUTION - CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED," indicating no magazine-disconnect.
The installed Crimson Trace Laserguard provides an on-board aiming aid without adding bulk to the slide. Two factory S&W steel magazines are included: a 6-round flush-base and a 7-round extended with grip sleeve. Introduced in 2016, the M&P45 Shield was among the slimmest production .45 ACP pistols at launch and is made in the United States.

The No Thumb Safety configuration combines a striker-fired action with internal safeguards, including a hinged trigger safety, an internal striker block, and a sear deactivation system. The absence of a magazine-disconnect is indicated by the factory marking on the slide.
Durable materials and finishes support everyday use. The stainless steel slide and 3.3-inch barrel wear a matte black Armornite finish, while the polymer frame keeps weight low. Front and rear scalloped serrations aid manipulation, and the external extractor promotes reliable ejection.
Sight setup is simple and usable: a fixed, dovetailed white-dot front and a plain-notch rear. The included Crimson Trace Laserguard adds a compact aiming tool mounted at the trigger guard, complementing the iron sights without altering the slide profile.
The single-stack design yields a slim profile at approximately 0.99 inch wide and about 6.45 inches in overall length, with an unloaded weight around 20.5 oz. Two factory magazines are provided to tailor capacity and grip length, with a 6-round flush option and a 7-round extended option. Built in the United States, this model was introduced in 2016 and offered one of the slimmest .45 ACP formats available at launch.
