Built on the 92A1 platform in Type F configuration, this pistol uses a locking-block short-recoil operating system and a DA/SA trigger with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker and a firing pin block. It has an external spurred hammer and fires without a magazine (no magazine disconnect).
The slide is the open-top Beretta pattern with a Bruniton finish, and it carries dovetailed sights in a 3-dot arrangement. The front sight is dovetailed and removable; the rear sight is dovetailed and drift-adjustable.
The aluminum-alloy frame incorporates an internal frame buffer and an integral MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with three slots. A captive recoil spring assembly is standard. Checkered black polymer grip panels with Beretta medallions provide a secure hold on this full-size pistol.
Markings and origin details include Italian proof and inspection stamps, an IT18 stamp, and the BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK., MD import mark. The slide is marked "MOD. 92A1 - CAL. 9x19 - PATENTED" and the barrel top is marked "PB 9x19." Matching serials are visible on the barrel and frame.
