This EMP 4 pairs compact dimensions with a purpose-built 9mm 1911 action. The forged stainless steel slide is marked EMP4 and 9MM and rides on a forged aluminum-alloy frame, hard-coat anodized black. The bi-tone presentation is clean and functional, with rear cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port for consistent extraction.
The 4-inch match-grade, bushingless bull barrel uses a fully supported ramp to enhance case support and feeding. A full-length guide rod complements the barrel setup, helping maintain smooth cycling in this compact format.
Sights are set up for a clear, fast sight picture: a fiber-optic (orange) front in a dovetail and a Wilson Combat plain black rear with top set screws, also dovetailed. The single-action system uses a long, skeletonized aluminum trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer.
Controls and grip features include a beavertail grip safety, a thumb safety, a flat checkered mainspring housing, and an internal magwell bevel. Aggressively textured black grip panels with a golfball/dimple pattern provide confident purchase. Capacity is 10+1 with the included EMP-marked 10-round magazines. Made in the USA, the frame is marked SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL USA and the chamber hood is marked S.A. 9MM.
