The VP9's polymer frame pairs with interchangeable backstrap and side panels to fine-tune fit, and the paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release supports fast, intuitive reloads. A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail on the dust cover accepts compatible lights or other accessories.
Its 4.09" cold-hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling with a 1:9.8 RH twist for long service life. The nitrocarburized slide features front and rear cocking serrations and HK charging supports for confident manipulation. This model uses a non-optics-cut slide.
Sight alignment is straightforward with a high-visibility green dot front sight and a black serrated rear notch. The pistol runs a striker-fired action with an integrated trigger safety, a loaded chamber indicator, a firing pin status indicator, and disassembly safety.
Made in Germany, this VP9 carries the DE country code and German proof marks, along with HK Inc., Columbus, GA import identification. The platform was announced as compliant with NIJ Standard 0112.03 (Rev A) in 2024 and is known as the SFP9 in some markets.
