The 28" octagonal blued barrel is marked "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE .50 CAL. HAWKEN." and carries a "BLACK POWDER ONLY … READ BEFORE USE" warning. The 1:48 twist rate offers a balanced rifling pitch within the Hawken pattern, and the hooked breech facilitates barrel removal for maintenance.
Its side-hammer percussion caplock system and single-shot, muzzleloading configuration deliver the traditional Hawken shooting experience. Capacity is 1 round loaded from the muzzle.
The American walnut half-stock incorporates a cheekpiece and an inletted oval T/C medallion in the fore-end. Brass furniture includes the crescent buttplate, patchbox, trigger guard, and forend cap, complementing the blued steel for a classic presentation. Double-set triggers provide a refined trigger press.
Open sights consist of a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable rear sight for practical alignment. An underrib with two ramrod thimbles is fitted under the barrel. Length of pull measures 14.1".
