The heart of this build is the Matrix Arms 13-inch M-LOK free-float handguard, providing solid accessory mounting while keeping the low-profile gas block fully enclosed. The handguard carries Matrix Arms branding and complements the flat-top upper for a streamlined profile.
The rifle retains Ruger’s AR-556 markings and construction details: a 7075-T6 aluminum receiver set with a hard-coat anodized finish, roll-marked "AR-556," and receiver marked "RUGER MAYODAN, NC USA" with the Ruger phoenix logo. The upper is a flat-top design with a T-marked Picatinny rail, forward assist, dust cover, and brass deflector.
UTG flip-up front and rear sights are installed for immediate use, and the handguard includes a low-profile M-LOK hand stop and a Picatinny rail sling mount. The Magpul adjustable carbine stock and A2-style polymer pistol grip provide a familiar, controllable interface.
The 16-inch threaded barrel is capped with an A2-style flash hider. The system runs a direct impingement, semi-automatic action with a manual safety and uses a STANAG-pattern magazine interface. Two Magpul PMAGs are included (30-round and 10-round). This rifle was manufactured in 2018 in the USA.
