Produced in 1976, this Security-Six carries the Bicentennial rollmark that confirms its year of manufacture. The model comes from Ruger’s discontinued Security-Six line of the 1970s–1980s and uses a one-piece investment-cast stainless frame with a brushed/satin stainless finish.
Chambered in .357 Magnum, the revolver’s six-shot fluted cylinder also accepts .38 Special. Its 6-inch barrel was the longest standard barrel offered in the Security-Six series, and it features a partial underlug/ejector-rod shroud. The smooth trigger and exposed, checkered hammer spur support confident double-action and single-action operation.
Sights include a ramped, pinned serrated front blade and a screw-adjustable square-notch rear, providing a clear, tunable sight picture. Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system allows safe carry with all six chambers loaded.
This example is fitted with aftermarket rubber finger-groove grips with inlaid medallions, enhancing hand purchase while retaining the classic Security-Six profile. A revolver speedloader is included.
