This Russian-made Izhmash Saiga in .223 Rem is a pre-sanctions RAA import with factory markings and a sporter configuration. It features a stamped AK-pattern receiver, a 16.3-inch unthreaded barrel, iron sights, and a factory left-side AK dovetail accessory rail. Included are five 30-round magazines, one 10-round factory Saiga magazine, an OEM cleaning kit pill, and a custom fabricated AK-47 standard magazine adapter.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: There are visible signs of handling and wear. The exterior shows scratches and blemishes, along with areas of finish loss.

Imported during the Russian American Armory (RAA) era and prior to the July 16, 2014 sanctions, this Saiga carries factory Izhmash and Russian proof markings along with the RAA Scottsburg, IN importer stamp. Bilingual Cyrillic and English receiver markings further identify its Russian manufacture and import lineage.
The rifle uses a stamped AK-pattern receiver with a ribbed top cover and the classic long-stroke gas system with a rotating bolt. Controls include a paddle-style magazine release, a manual safety/selector lever marked S/F, and a factory bolt-hold-open (BHO) lever. A factory left-side AK dovetail accessory rail is riveted to the receiver.
The 16.3-inch barrel is plain crowned with an unthreaded muzzle. Sights consist of a hooded post front and a tangent leaf rear adjustable for elevation. Furniture includes a black polymer Monte Carlo stock with molded checkering and a rear sling swivel, paired with a one-piece black polymer sporter fore-end. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
This example remains in its unconverted sporter configuration designed for proprietary Saiga magazines. It is supplied with five 30-round .223 polymer waffle-pattern magazines and a factory 10-round Saiga magazine, supporting a 30+1 capacity. A custom fabricated AK-47 standard magazine adapter is also included.
