This Springfield Armory XD 4" Service Model in 9mm Luger is a full-size, striker-fired pistol built with a forged steel slide and a 4-inch hammer-forged barrel, both finished in black Melonite. It features multiple passive safety systems, a dual captive recoil spring, and practical sighting and control enhancements. Made by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory, it comes well-equipped with six magazines, a soft case, and a Kydex IWB holster.

The XD 4" Service Model delivers a proven striker-fired, short-recoil action with a 4-inch hammer-forged barrel and a forged steel slide, both treated with a durable Melonite finish. The polymer frame keeps weight manageable while maintaining a full-size grip for control and capacity.
Practical sighting and handling features include steel 3-dot, dovetailed sights, along with front and rear slide serrations and forward cocking serrations for confident manipulation. A loaded-chamber indicator and a striker status indicator provide immediate status checks at a glance and by touch.
Safety features are integral to the design: a grip safety and trigger safety work together with the loaded-chamber indicator and striker status indicator. The pistol also includes a dual captive recoil spring with a full-length guide rod and an integral one-slot accessory rail for mounting a light or comparable accessory.
Dimensions are optimized for duty-size performance: approximately 7.3 inches in overall length, 5.5 inches in height, a grip width of 1.2 inches, and an unloaded weight of about 28 ounces. Capacity is 16+1 rounds of 9mm Luger, and this example arrives with two 16-round and four 10-round stainless steel magazines.
Markings include "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S.A." on the slide with the XD logo, "XD-9" model designation, and "CAL 9x19" on the barrel hood.
