The 917VS is built around a heavy-profile, non-fluted 22 inch stainless steel barrel optimized for the .17 HMR cartridge. It uses 4-groove rifling with a 1:9 inch right-hand twist and is configured with no sights, providing a rigid, corrosion-resistant foundation for precision-oriented shooting.
The bolt action is paired with Marlin's T-900 single-stage trigger system and a two-position safety. A red cocking indicator at the rear of the bolt provides instant visual status. Feeding is via detachable steel box magazines, and capacity is 7+1.
The grey/black laminated Monte Carlo stock features a Mar-Shield finish for durability, a rubber buttpad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches, delivering a stable and comfortable interface.
