The R92 features a Winchester 1892-style, top-eject receiver with a standard loop lever and a right-side loading gate. It uses a full-length tubular magazine for a 10+1 capacity and is chambered for both .357 Magnum and .38 Special, offering versatile ammunition choices. The 20-inch round-profile steel barrel balances handling with sight radius.
Construction is all steel with a polished blued finish, paired with a straight-grip hardwood buttstock and a smooth hardwood forearm secured by barrel bands. A steel carbine-style buttplate and a right-side saddle ring complete the classic carbine pattern. Length of pull is 12.75 inches.
Sighting equipment is traditional: a ramped blade front sight and a semi-buckhorn rear sight with an elevator. A bolt-top manual safety with a red indicator dot provides an additional control on the action.
Factory markings include the barrel legend "ROSSI .38 SPL - .357 MAG." and tang marking "MOD. R92." Import and production marks read "BRAZTECH, L.C., MIAMI, FL. / MADE IN BRAZIL BY TAURUS," reflecting Brazilian manufacture.
