The Ruger-57 uses a delayed-blowback operating system mated to Ruger’s Secure Action with a protected internal hammer. Controls include an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and a bladed trigger safety, giving familiar handling with positive engagement.
The 4.94" alloy-steel barrel receives a black-nitride treatment, and its 1:9 RH twist with eight grooves is tailored for 5.7x28mm loads. An aluminum fire-control chassis sits inside the glass-filled nylon frame for strength and durability.
The alloy-steel slide wears a black-oxide finish and features front and rear serrations, a top lightening window, and a pre-drilled and tapped pattern with an optic adapter plate installed. A chamber inspection port is present. No optic is included.
Sighting is straightforward with a green fiber-optic front blade and a windage/elevation-adjustable rear notch. An integral Picatinny-style accessory rail on the dust cover supports lights or other rail-mounted accessories.
Capacity is 20+1, and this example includes two 20-round magazines plus one 10-round magazine. Markings include "RUGER-57" and "RUGER PRESCOTT, AZ USA 5.7x28." The pistol is designed to fire with the magazine removed (no magazine disconnect).
