Imported in 1993 prior to the May 28, 1994 U.S. Chinese-arms import embargo, this MAK-90 carries desirable pre-ban status. The configuration omits a bayonet lug and accepts detachable AK-pattern magazines.
The rifle uses a stamped steel receiver with the AKM-style magazine well dimple. Its system is the classic long-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, a 90-degree gas block, and a vented gas tube. Controls include the right-side selector/safety lever, and the rifle is sized as a full-size AKM-pattern sporter.
The 16-inch barrel is threaded and currently fitted with a thread-on AK-pattern muzzle brake. Sights are the traditional protected front post and a tangent rear sight graduated 1–8 with a "D" setting, providing simple, durable aiming references consistent with the platform.
