The VLS (Varmint Laminated Stock) configuration centers on stability and barrel consistency. This rifle uses a 26-inch heavy, non-fluted carbon-steel barrel with a target-style recessed crown to support precision in .22-250 Rem. The metalwork wears a matte blued finish, and the receiver is carbon steel.
The laminated hardwood stock is the VLS pattern with a Monte Carlo comb and a wide beavertail fore-end. It includes quick-detach sling swivel studs and a recoil pad, and provides a 13.25-inch length of pull. The right-hand bolt ends in a round, checkered knob.
An aftermarket Timney trigger is installed, offering a refined trigger system beyond the standard configuration. The rifle feeds from an internal box magazine with a BDL-style hinged floorplate for 4+1 capacity.
There are no iron sights. A Tasco variable-power scope with adjustable objective is mounted on two-piece bases with rings, ready for use. The VLS variant was introduced in 1995, and this example was made in Ilion, New York, United States.
