Built in Finland in 1962, this L61R Finnbear Standard Grade is an early-production example with the classic markings collectors look for. The barrel is marked "FINNBEAR MADE IN FINLAND" with the early "Bofors Steel" script, and the chamber is marked "SAKO cal. .264 Mag." Finnish proof and inspection stamps are present.
The rifle is chambered in .264 Win. Mag. and uses a 26-inch steel barrel paired with a gloss blued steel receiver. It operates with a right-hand bolt featuring a round knob and feeds from an internal magazine with a hinged floorplate for a 3+1 capacity.
The walnut stock shows Sako’s traditional craftsmanship, including hand-cut point checkering at the pistol grip and fore-end, a steel crossbolt, and a factory SAKO ventilated recoil pad. Sling swivel studs are installed, and the length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
