The 10.5-inch barrel is made from 4140 chrome-moly steel and is cold hammer-forged for durability. It is threaded 1/2-28 and fitted with a Ruger/A2-style flash suppressor. The barrel is stamped "5.56 NATO 1-8" and uses a 1:8 RH twist to stabilize a wide range of bullet weights.
The upper includes a brass deflector and dust cover, and this specimen does not have a forward assist. The bolt is 9310 steel with chrome-lined interiors and a properly staked gas key. A carbine-length gas system and direct-impingement action complete the operating setup.
Receivers are forged 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish in black. A manual safety selector is standard. Markings include "RUGER MAYODAN, NC USA," consistent with domestic production.
The slim 9-inch free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard features a continuous top Picatinny rail with "RUGER" marking. This configuration ships without sights, allowing the owner to configure as desired. The factory setup corresponds to Ruger part number 08570.
