The ZPAPM70 is built on a stamped steel 1.5 mm receiver paired with a heavy RPK-style bulged front trunnion. This robust foundation complements the rifle’s long-stroke gas piston system and stamped construction, delivering the classic M70 pattern in a modern import from Serbia.
Its 16.3 in cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel is threaded 14x1 LH and uses a detent plunger to secure muzzle devices. Sights are traditional AK pattern with a hooded front post and a tangent rear leaf for straightforward alignment.
The rifle wears wood furniture, including a fixed stock with a ribbed buttplate, a wood pistol grip, and ventilated wood handguards with elongated vents. Length of pull is 12.75 in. The handguard bears carved characters/date "19.10.92."
It includes a left-side AK optics dovetail, with an AK side-rail mount/bridge installed and a Zastava railed dust cover installed. Controls include a manual safety lever with a bolt-hold-open notch and Zastava’s dust-cover lock mechanism. Import marks read "Zastava Arms USA DES PLAINES IL" and "ZASTAVA ARMS MADE IN SERBIA." Receiver and bolt carrier have matching serial numbers (Z70 prefix).
