The 950BS Jetfire is a single-action blowback design with a 2.4-inch tip-up barrel that allows quick chamber inspection and loading without running the slide. Its open-top slide features rear vertical serrations and is engineered without an external extractor by design.
Controls are straightforward and purposeful: a heel-type magazine release at the grip base, an external spur hammer, and a clear red index dot for the safety position. The safety system includes a manual thumb safety, a sear-blocking safety, and an inertia firing pin.
The aluminum alloy frame and receiver keep weight low while the fixed sighting system uses an integral blade front and a fixed notch rear. Checkered black polymer grips with Beretta PB medallions include a lower roundel marked 'P.B. JETFIRE.'
Markings include left-side slide text 'Mod. 950 BS' and manufacturer information reading BERETTA U.S.A. CORP., ACCOKEEK, MD with a Made in USA marking. One included factory magazine bears a Made in Italy marking. Capacity is 8+1, and three single-stack steel magazines are included.
