Matching serials are observed on the receiver, magazine, and trigger guard. The rifle bears import marks from I.O. Inc, Monroe NC, along with "7.62x39 CHINA" on the metal.
It retains early-pattern features: a milled trigger guard, milled bolt carrier, smooth (unribbed) top cover, unthreaded muzzle, and a fixed 10-round internal magazine with the bottom-mounted rear sling swivel. A blade bayonet is fitted in the classic Type 56 configuration.
The operating system is the proven short-stroke gas piston with tilting-bolt locking. Controls include a right-side integral charging handle and a flag safety. Sights are iron, with a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight with an elevation slider.
