The Renegade platform combines a traditional percussion sidelock with practical features for dependable black powder shooting. This single-shot muzzleloader uses an external hammer and a drum/snail breech with nipple, offering straightforward ignition and a 1-round capacity.
The 26-inch octagonal steel barrel wears a durable blued finish and includes an under-rib with two ramrod pipes. The top flat bears the rollmark: "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE .50 CAL. RENEGADE". A clear barrel warning states: "BLACK POWDER OR PYRODEX ONLY — DO NOT USE SMOKELESS POWDER — INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE READ BEFORE USE".
Controls and sighting equipment are set up for precise shooting. The rifle is equipped with double-set triggers and iron sights, including a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable rear open sight.
The walnut-toned wood half-stock has a straight comb with no cheekpiece and no patchbox, capped by a black buttplate molded with the TC logo. A single visible through-wedge with oval escutcheons secures the barrel. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches. Made in the USA.
