The GB configuration brings a bayonet lug and birdcage flash suppressor on an 18.5-inch stainless barrel, paired with a matte stainless receiver. A ventilated polymer top handguard and a black glass-filled nylon stock with molded checkering, rubber buttpad, and sling swivels complete the durable, service-style setup.

The receiver is marked "RUGER MINI-14 CAL .223" on top and "STURM, RUGER & CO., INC., SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A." on the right side. It operates via a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt and uses a right-side charging handle. Sights are iron: a protected adjustable rear aperture and a wing-protected front blade with an integral bayonet lug. The trigger-guard safety is the M1/M14-style design.
Capacity is 30+1 with Mini-14 pattern detachable magazines, and this rifle includes both a Ruger factory 30-round and 20-round steel magazine. An aftermarket clamp-on barrel collar marked "H" is installed on the barrel. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
