This authentic Colt 1860 Army 2nd Generation Blackpowder Series F-Series revolver is a U.S.-made .44 caliber percussion model produced during the 1978–1982 era. It features the classic 8 inch barrel, six-shot cylinder, open-top frame, and Colt creeping loading lever with front latch. Correct barrel and frame markings, matching serialized major components, period-correct finishes, and original factory packaging and literature make this a notable, collectible example.

    What's Included

    • Box: Colt Blackpowder Series factory cardboard box (black) with end label for 1860 Army .44, 8" barrel, matching S/N 207955
    • Manuals: Colt instruction manual and 'The Colt Companion' pamphlet in plastic sleeve

Built as part of Colt's 2nd Generation Blackpowder Series F-Series, this revolver aligns with the documented F-Series serial range and is distinguished from later Signature Series guns by the absence of the Sam Colt backstrap signature. Major components are serial-matched in the correct locations, with the last four digits present on the backstrap, and no import or proof marks are observed.

It carries the correct historical markings: the barrel address reads "ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" and the frame is marked "PAT. SEPT. 10th 1850." The open-top frame, cap-and-ball single-action lockwork, and six-shot cylinder adhere to the 1860 Army pattern while reflecting Colt's 2nd Generation manufacture.

Materials and finishes are period appropriate: a blued steel barrel and cylinder; color case-hardened steel frame, hammer, and loading lever; brass trigger guard; blued steel backstrap; and a one-piece smooth walnut grip. Fixed sights consist of a front blade paired with a hammer-notch rear.

The revolver is chambered in .44 caliber with an 8 inch barrel and six-round capacity. The included Colt factory box with labeled end panel and original literature add to the completeness of this example. The bore condition is excellent, with a clean, mirror finish and sharp rifling.
