This FNP-9 uses a DA/SA, short-recoil, hammer-fired system with an external ring-spur hammer. The ambidextrous decocker/safety and reversible magazine release support left- and right-handed operation without additional parts.
The stainless-steel slide wears a matte black finish and includes rear cocking serrations and an external extractor. Fixed sights consist of a white-dot front blade paired with a square-notch rear for a clear, simple sight picture.
The full-size polymer frame provides aggressive molded texturing and curved palm swells for a secure hold. An integral accessory rail on the dustcover (one cross-slot) allows mounting of compatible lights or accessories.
At the core is a modular fire-control unit with replaceable steel frame rails, a hallmark of the FNP series that preceded the FNX line and was also marketed in related form as the Browning Pro-9. Rollmarks include 'FNH USA Fredericksburg, VA' and 'MADE IN USA', reflecting its U.S. manufacture.
