What's Included
- E.A. Co. Model J-15 5.56mm semi-automatic rifle
- One 30-round USGI-pattern aluminum STANAG AR-15 magazine
Built on an Essential Arms J-15 lower receiver from Krotz Springs, Louisiana, this rifle falls within the company’s documented pre-ban serial range; Essential Arms notes that J-15 receivers under 50,000 were produced before September 1994, and this example (EA 039057) is in that range. The cast-aluminum lower shows raised cast legends and a stamped serial. It uses the STANAG magazine interface and a manual safety.
The upper is the A2 pattern with a fixed carry handle, A2 rear sight drum, case deflector, and round forward assist. The front sight is the A2 post in a fixed front sight base with a bayonet lug and a front sling swivel. The carbine-length ribbed polymer handguard matches the A2 configuration and retains the classic profile.
The 16 inch Bushmaster-marked HBAR is clearly roll-marked "B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR," indicating magnetic particle inspection and a 1:9 twist suitable for a broad range of 5.56/.223 loads. It uses a carbine-length gas system and a threaded muzzle fitted with a birdcage flash hider. The rifle is semi-automatic, direct impingement.
Furniture includes a CAR-type telescoping stock on a round receiver extension, with approximate length-of-pull positions at about 10 inches and 13.5 inches. The rifle wears a non-factory spray painted ODG finish over both metal and polymer components, with visible handling wear that gives it a service-ready look while protecting the surfaces.
