This Signature Series reproduction adheres closely to the Model 1860 Army pattern in .44 caliber, using a traditional cap-and-ball, single-action mechanism. It retains the open-top frame with a wedge-retained barrel assembly that defines the model’s classic profile.
The revolver is built around a round 8-inch barrel with a creeping loading lever for positive seating of the ball. Its six-chamber cylinder is roll-engraved with the naval battle scene associated with the original Colt design.
Sights are fixed, with a front blade and a rear hammer notch. The barrel top is stamped "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY," the left frame "COLTS PATENT U.S.," and the right frame "44 CAL."
Signature Series traits include matching S-suffix serial numbers on major components, with an additional butt/backstrap stamp "1840." Construction is steel throughout with a bright stainless/satin steel finish on the frame and cylinder, and it wears a one-piece smooth wood grip.
