Built by A. Uberti for Cimarron, this open-top revolver follows the Richards-Mason cartridge conversion pattern with a breech ring marked with two patent lines: "PAT. JULY. 25. 1871." and "PAT.
JULY. 2. 1872." The unfluted six-shot cylinder carries the classic roll-engraved naval battle scene, offering a faithful visual link to the historic Navy lineage.
The 5.5 inch octagonal barrel is wedge-retained and paired with a side ejector assembly, matching the period conversion layout. A fixed brass front sight (brass front bead) provides a simple, durable aiming reference. The barrel is roll-marked "CIMARRON F.A. CO., FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS. Made in Italy" and "38 COLT & S&W SPEC."
Construction is robust, with a forged steel barrel and a steel, color case-hardened frame and receiver. The barrel and cylinder are blued, and the cylinder remains unfluted to showcase the naval scene. The trigger guard and backstrap are brass, capped by a one-piece walnut grip that delivers a traditional feel.
This example is chambered in .38 Special, and the barrel markings also note .38 Colt & S&W Special. Italian proof marks are present. A "36 CAL" stamp is observed on the brass grip frame; the barrel and box indicate .38 Colt/.38 Special chambering. The revolver is single-action only with a 6-round capacity. It is Cimarron item CA926, made in Italy.
