The Tavor SAR is a compact bullpup rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO, built around a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston action. Its 16.5 inch barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined, delivering durability and consistent performance. The 1:7 twist stabilizes a wide range of 5.56/.223 projectiles.
Controls are intuitive and efficient: a left-side, folding, non-reciprocating charging handle; an AR-style right-side push-button magazine release; and an ambidextrous two-position safety. The fixed buttpad and a 15.75 inch length of pull complete the handling package.
This rifle includes an MWI fore end upgrade via a Midwest Industries aluminum fore-end/handguard, adding a robust, metal interface around the barrel and gas system. A full-length 12 o'clock Picatinny rail with T-marked slots runs the top of the receiver for mounting devices. A three-chamber muzzle brake is installed at the muzzle.
Construction pairs a steel receiver with a black polymer frame and stock, yielding strength with manageable weight. Ejection is set to the right side. Markings include a P stamp on the barrel, a MADE IN ISRAEL barrel marking, and a receiver marked TAVOR SAR – IWI US – MIDDLETOWN, PA. Capacity is 20+1 with the included Magpul PMAG.
